Digipack analysis 1
Target Audience:
Class- Working/Middle class
Age- 17-25
Gender- Both male and female
Ethnicity- Predominantly white British
The Killers are a boy band of a similar genre to Bastille therefore will have a similar target audience. Therefore looking at their digipack will give us a good idea of what images, colours, and mise en scene to use.
Front Cover
It is very plain but effective. The image is light and very simple however the photograph itself is very good. The logo used for the band name is the most eye catching thing about it- it is very bold and takes up a large part of the cover. The color of the font is contrasting to the photo used which also makes it stand out. The convention we are going to use for inspiration on our digipack is using contrasting colors between the image and font used.
CD
The CD again is very plain- using the color that is used throughout so you can instantly tell it is apart of the same thing. Again the most attractive thing about it is the logo which is the same as the one on the front- again creating synergy with the front cover. We are going to use this inspiration for our CD by putting our band logo on the disc.
Back
The back is again sticking to the plain and simple theme using the same colors and imagery. The lit of 'CD's' and 'DVD's' are in a contrasting white font which makes them stand out on the background. They are very bold and easy to see which is important so the audience can rad them easily. The convention we like the most which we are going to use on ours is the boldness of it the songs listed.
Overall, this is a very simple an effective digipack however we arent going to take this approach we are going to take a more bright and vibrant approach to match the name of our band and album name.
