Preperation for filming the band
In order to get filming off to a smooth start, as a group, we went down to the drama studio an hour before the band members came to set up the music equipment (e.g. set drums up, place guitars where we want the band members to stand and set up all the filming equipment. Here is a list of jobs that we had to do before the band members came:
- Collect the correct equipment from the media room
- Set up the drum kit, guitars and microphone stand
- Set up the tripods and ensure that lighting on the camera is correct
- Set up the dolly
- Set up the shoulder mount
By going earlier and preparing our self for the filming of the band, it meant that we were more organised and could get on with filming as we were limited with time.
We also got the help from our teacher to help us set up the lighting in the drama studio, so that we got the best quality footage. In our rough cut we only used LED's and redheads, however we decided that it looked slightly too bright. In our final cut we are going to use the big stage lights that would shine down on the band members. These lights are advantageous to us as they don't cast any harsh shadows- like the redheads did as we found out in our rough cut. We can also change the colour of the lights and control the brightness.
