Fonts for our digipack research

We have started to research fonts we could use for the album cover- this includes

  • The Back cover (Song names)
  • The Front cover (Band name and album title)
  • The Spine
  • All interior pages

We are going to ask our TA which fonts they think will look best on the digipack. Once we have gathered our results, we will then sit down as a group and analyse the results and decide if we agree with it all and justify.

Back Cover and Front Cover Font
From our research we have established that the songs on the back of Album covers are usually wrote in a thin, clear bold font. We have also notices that the text on the front cover of a digipack is also wrote in a similar font and is kept the same through out. Therefor, we have used the online website 'Da Font' to research some fonts that match our criteria. Here is a list of 6 fonts that we think match the conventions of a digipack.

1st Roboto
2nd Caviar Dream
3rd The Light Font
4th Occupied
5th Quick Sand
6th Aliens and Cows
7th Lemon Milk

Our Target audience feedback...
Brandon: I really like the 3rd and 7th font because they are clear to read and are bold.
Katie: The last font is my favorite because its clear, however looks a bit different that the other ones as its slightly on a slant. I also like the 6th one because that one is different as well.
Megan: I like the last font because it can work for both the front cover and back as its simple, easy to read and isn't 'boring' to look at as it is slightly different to the others as it with the fact its on a slight angle.
From our TA feedback, we have decided that we are going to use the 7th font 'Lemon Milk' as we also agree with our TA's comments about it being clear and easy to read. We believe it has a professional look to it and is distinct, therefor gives the band an identity for the TA to look out for. From research, we have noticed that one of the main conventions of an advert and digipack, is that the same font has been used through out the all the texts. Therefor, to keep all our texts consistent, we are goig to use the font 'Lemon Milk' throughout all the texts.
