Question 3 Planning (music video)

What have you learned from your audience feedback?

We have chosen to do Watch, Download, Delete. (Snog, Marry, Avoid)
The narrator (known as pod) will ask the question 'Would you Watch, Download or Delete this music video'
The viewer will be looking down (as if watching the video on a screen) and say their answer. When we edit we will show the rough cut music video in the corner of the screen.
Then after showing everyone's answers we will ask for their feedback. The answers are below.
This will be followed by the same procedure for the final cut.

Stage 1= Rough Cut

30% watch:
"I liked the mirror scenes at the beginning when she was deciding whether to keep her mask off, the different angles used were effective, however I think you should show her taking the mask off and use an action match to do this as it would be more dramatic and draw the viewer in."
"I love the use of the fixed lens on the guitar strumming, with the fairy lights in the background, you should definitely keep this in your final cut."
"I think the narrative is really gripping and engaging, I love the idea that everyone hides their identities behind masks you should keep the narrative the same in the final cut, but perhaps add more narrative shots so the story line is clearer."

70% delete:
"I find the narrative intriguing however because the lead vocalist is male I feel like the narrative would be more suited to a male protagonist."
"I don't think the band you have used suits the indie genre, they look slightly too young, you should think about changing this."
"The band aren't dressed like typical indie bands should be. Perhaps go for darker clothing in your final cut."
"The story line isn't quite clear enough, more characters with masks on need to be involved."
"There are some good shots but more editing techniques and transitions need to be included."
"I think that including the band in the narrative by having them wearing masks at the end is too complicated for the viewer to understand."
"The location of the band performance is too brightly lit and it doesn't look like a professional performance. I think its vital you change location, and also use a wider range of angles, shots and equipment when filming it."
"The plot twist at the end should be changed from the band wearing masks to something different."

Stage 2= Final Cut

100% Download=
"The band are dressed like a real indie band, and their performance is very professional. They suit the role of Indigo Moon really well."
"I think the narrative is really clear, it is very though-provoking and matches the lyrics of the song well, making it a successful music video."
"I love the editing of the male protagonist walking home, with the different locations flashing, this is really enthralling."
"The location of the band performance suits the video really well, and I love the effective change of lighting."
"The plot twist at the end was really intriguing, and made me want to watch the video all over again!"
"The settings and locations used in the narrative make the video really pleasing the watch."
"I love how it is the female who manages to get everyone to take the masks off, this subverts the stereotype that males are always the hero"
"The moving shots during the band performance match the tone of the music extremely well."
