How did you use media technologies in the construction, research, planning and evaluation stages of your coursework?
Presenter- Hello! This week on The Gadget Show we look at the use of media technologies in all aspects of a group of year 13s media coursework! Joining us today we have ____ and ____ who are excited to discuss their use of technologies. Thanks for joining us today!
Answer 1- Thanks for having us.
Presenter- So what technologies have you used throughout the project?
Answer 2-Well we have used adobe premiere, adobe in design. Also, blogger and new media technologies such as YouTube, Facebook and Survey Monkey.
Answer 1- Yeah, we have also used Dafont and Microsoft office. And during construction we used camera equipment such as lights, tripods, a shoulder mount, a dolly and a crane.
Answer 2- We also used a sound recorder in our evaluation and green screen throughout the project. Lighting was also important to use we we used LED's and RED lights during construction to make the video look as proffessional as possible.
Presenter- So how did you use Photoshop?
Answer 2- We used adobe Photoshop to edit photos that we used on our digipack and advert. We added a light blue filter to the image for the back of our digipack to make it link to the blue theme running throughout the digipack. We created a silhouette of Adam using a magic wand tool. Also used to add the image of out of focus fairy lights fit inside of Adams silhouette. We edited the image of the moon and city by editing the moon to look more round and professional.
Presenter- Fabulous! So how did use premiere?
Answer 1- The software used to add all of our footage and the song to construct our video. We created parallel editing by integrating two narratives together that then become one. We created
a flash back to make the narrative become more clear to the audience. And a jump cut by adding 3 pieces of footage together of Alex walking through different locations.
Presenter- That's very interesting. Now tell me about Adobe InDesign.
Answer 2- We used it to create our ancillary texts. We created a multilayered effect to add text and images together to make it look professional and fit the indie genre. This allowed us to add the small print to give our digipack and advert the professional look.
Presenter- Wow that sounds very useful. What did you use to plan your coursework?
Answer 1- We used blogger. Which is a media platform used to show the planning of our project including research and construction. Making plans on blogger allowed us to be organised and communicate well as a group as we were all aware of what we need to do etc. Doing research blogs allowed us to make our video and ancillary texts look more professional and realistic as we knew what structure to follow and which types of things to include.
Presenter- You sound like you were very organised! Did you use any new media technologies throughout your coursework?
Answer 2- Yes! We uploaded our anamatics, rough cut and final cut to You Tube so we could show our target audience for feedback. It also made it easier for us to add it to the blog for our followers and fans to find. To add to that, we created a group chat on Facebook with all of our group members in order to be organised, it allowed us to discuss ideas and make arrangements. We also had a group chat with our band again to make arrangements, telling them what to wear and what to bring etc. This just made everything run smooth as everyone knew what they were doing and what to bring etc. Finally, we used survey monkey for our audience research, to find out what our audience would like to see most. This allowed us to make our video appeal to our target audience more.
Presenter- Thats great, what else did you use to make your coureswork look proffessional?
Answer 1- We used a website called Dafont to find a range of different fonts. We found professional and sophisticated fonts to allow our ancillary texts link to the indie genre and look professional. The main font we used was 'Lemon Milk' we chose this font as it fit our theme and genre and looked very bold and professional.
Answer 2- Yeah, we also used the green screen to create locations that we couldn't get in real life.
Presenter- You seem to have used a wide range of media technologies! This shows how important it is to use a range of technologies to make your video successful. Thanks for joining us today!
Answer 1 & 2- Thanks for having us.
Presenter- Join us next week for sports related-gadgets! Bye!
